Working hand in hand with the needy“In 2017, Trien established a workshop, utilizing the small house of his parents in the midst of the rural area surrounding the Gianh River. Trien borrowed over 800 million VND to invest in opening a chopstick production workshop. Trien learned the craft of making chopsticks in Ho Chi Minh City. He worked during the day and attended vocational training courses at night, driven by the idea of bringing the art of chopstick craftsmanship back to his hometown to help people escape poverty.”
About Quang Thuy Chopsticks
In June 2018, the Quang Thuy Chopstick Cooperative was established. Mr. Le Thanh Trien officially became the Director of the Quang Thuy Chopstick Cooperative at the end of 2019.

Mr. Le Thanh Trien
Founder
Mr. Le Thanh Trien holds a bachelor’s degree in Literature from Quy Nhon University. After working in Ho Chi Minh City for 6 years and holding a position in a large corporation, he decided to leave the urban area and return to his hometown of Trung Thuy village (Quang Thuy commune, Ba Don town). He pursued a career in artistic craftsmanship, specializing in exporting chopsticks.

If other communes in Ba Don town have many multi-story houses and new cars, Quang Thuy commune is an economically disadvantaged area. Trien has a strong attachment to his homeland, so he decided to return to the countryside with his wife, Ho Ngoc Bich Nguyen, a girl from Tam Ky, Quang Nam – a graduate of Quy Nhon University, who used to work as an Accounting Controller at BigC Corporation.

With the desire to develop extensively to create more job opportunities for people in the area, especially for disadvantaged women, Quang Thuy Chopsticks continuously learns from experts and invests in machinery and equipment for production. To date, Quang Thuy Chopsticks has contributed to creating more than 100 on-site and at-home jobs for local residents, helping alleviate employment pressure in the area.

Quang Thuy Chopsticks strives to achieve the “5-Star OCOP Product” status awarded by Quang Binh province by 2025 and aims to bring Quang Thuy chopstick products to even more places around the world to contribute to the development of the homeland.
